Uzbekistan marks the 30th anniversary of adopting the state flag
The law "On the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted on November 18, 1991. Each color and symbol on the State Flag of Uzbekistan has a deep meaning. The blue color symbolizes the clear sky and water, the white color stands for peace and purity, green denotes renewal and youth, embodies the unique nature of Uzbekistan, and the red stripes are the blood flowing in our veins, reminding us about freedom-loving ancestors, the symbol of vital power and eternity. The young crescent moon symbolizes the peace and tranquility reigning in the country, at the same time it marks a new epoch in the history of Uzbekistan. 12 stars are the symbol of clear cloudless sky, perfection, 12 qualities of wisdom.
The state flag of Uzbekistan is flown during official visits of delegations of Uzbekistan to foreign states, at the entrance to state’s embassies abroad, and representative offices in international organizations, at international forums, and conferences, sports competitions. As a symbol of peace and harmony reigning in Uzbekistan, this sacred symbol proudly flies on the buildings of government institutions, residences, enterprises, organizations, and educational institutions.
