On August 9, in the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata, a summit-conference of women in the energy sector of Central Asian countries was held. Within its framework, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation and Mutual Understanding between the Association of Women in the Energy Industry of Kyrgyzstan, represented by President Altynai Abdykerimova and the Gender Council of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, represented by the head of the press service Elmira Bekmurodova, was held.
The parties intend to cooperate in terms of expanding opportunities and enhancing the role of women in the energy sector.In addition, the memorandum provides for the creation of favorable conditions for the development of cooperation between the parties in terms of:
- studying and applying the work experience of women working in the energy systems of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan;
- promotion of gender-sensitive professions in the energy sector, engineering and engineering ICT technologies;
- providing advisory, informational assistance to the younger generation - adolescent girls and girls who choose engineering professions;
- organization of joint projects and analytical work.
Both sides are committed in their activities to similar goals, principles and values: promoting the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of women and striving to increase the role of women in the energy sector. As a result, intentions were expressed to strengthen partnerships and develop effective and mutually beneficial cooperation.
