Uzbekistan-Afghanistan Talks Yield $1.185 Billion in Trade Deals
Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev met with Afghanistan's Deputy Prime Minister in Kabul on October 29. They discussed various issues concerning the cooperation between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. In Kabul, an extended meeting took place involving ministries and agencies from both countries. They discussed prospects for collaboration in trade, economics, and other areas. The Uzbek delegation consisted of heads of various ministries and departments.
Discussions in Kabul covered multiple topics, including projects like the Surkhan-Puli-Khumri power transmission network, revitalizing trading houses in Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif, and the potential opening of an "Uzbekistan Railways" representative office in Afghanistan. They also touched on matters related to international cargo transportation, customs control, and mining exploration.
During the Uzbek delegation's visit to Kabul, an exhibition showcased Uzbekistan's national products. Meetings were held in formats involving government and business representatives from both countries, resulting in the signing of contracts and agreements worth $1.185 billion. These agreements covered agriculture, textiles, transportation, logistics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, leather goods, and the electrical engineering industry.
