Uzbekistan's permanent representative to the United Nations has changed. Ulugbek Lapasov was appointed to this position. In 2016, he became an advisor to the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN in Switzerland. Before Ulugbek Lapsov, he worked as Uzbekistan's permanent representative to the UN office and other international organizations in Geneva. It was reported that member states of the Asia-Pacific Regional Group supported Ulugbek Lapasov's candidacy for the position of Vice President of the UN Human Rights Council for 2022.
