Uzbekistan recognised as China's strategic partner in tourism
The sides discussed the expansion of air flights and the elaboration of a tourism development strategy by 2030
A trilateral meeting was held between Hu Heping, Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary General of UNWTO, and Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan was recognized as China's strategic partner in tourism. The sides discussed the expansion of air flights and the elaboration of a tourism development strategy by 2030.
Currently, between Uzbekistan and China, 3 airlines "Uzbekistan Airways", "China South Airlines," and "Loongair," carry out 11 flights per week
Cooperation in the development of tourist products and routes for Chinese tourists was proposed. The UNWTO Secretary General proposed to invite teachers and specialists from China to the UNWTO International Academy of Tourism in Samarkand and to develop projects on the theme "Tourism on the Silk Road".
A meeting in a similar format is planned for 2024 in China.
