Who is behind Sardoba dam disaster?
A commission of qualified specialists from relevant departments in the framework of criminal cases continues to work on assessment and audit.
The National investigation body of Uzbekistan has sued 17 individuals involved in the design, construction and operation of the Sardoba reservoir that led to its collapse. This was announced by the director of the anti-corruption agency Akmal Burkhanov.
A group of top officials from Operations Directorate, Sirdaryo Suv Qurilish Invest, UzGip LLC, main contractors - Uztemiryulqurilishmontazh, Rezaksoy Suv Qurilish, Omad Double, Sariosiyo Qurilish, Trans Service Complex ”,“ Tupalang Sherabad ”, and the employees of the Ministry of Water Resources were found responsible and charged with Articles 167, 203, 205, 207, 209 and 258. According to the director, 7 of the accused were taken into custody, 6 were released on bail.
