Closure of Samarkand airport extends until mid-December
The closure of Samarqand airport is prolonged until December 15 of this year due to construction works of a new airfield complex and new air navigation equipment. All flights will remain to be redirected to other international airports such as Navoi, Bukhara, and Karshi, from where a ground transfer will be provided for passengers to Samarkand.
In addition, the construction continues in preparation for the SCO summit to be held in 2022.
