From January 1st, 2022, it is planned to increase fares on the subway and buses in Tashkent, from 0.13 cents (1,400 soms) to 0.16 cents (1,700 soms) - stated in a draft decision of the capital’s mayor. In addition, it is planned to review the cost of tariffs and to introduce a limit on the number of rides when using the transport cards (the current fares do not limit the number of rides and transfers).
Using a transport card one trip will cost an average of 0.12 cents (1,300 soms), $2.7 cents (29,000 soms) / 22 trips, which should lead to a reduction in cash turnover.
